PINK AND GREEN SUMMER SOLSTICE TABLE SETTING

It’s a wonderful time of the year when the nights are short and the days are long. BBQ parties and picnics at the plenty and everyone’s moods seem lifted meaning summer solstice is here.

I’ve pulled together a few ideas to decorate an alfresco dining table to make the most of the longest day of the year on 21st June.

Bottles swinging like Spain

These bottles look amazing an will have your guests asking how on earth you made them. Simply tie a piece of strong string around the bottle and suspend above the table. Simply add flowers to the bottles and voila.

Take some old newspaper out and lay it over your table and get painting. Buy terracotta pots from your local garden center or you can buy here.

Use a range of sizes but make sure they are the same kind. Paint them all in a light hue of pink to give that a summer feeling.

Pink Water

Pink glassware together with rose coloured water just adds to the colour theme. To make the flavoured water use strawberries and pomegranate seeds.

Pink Tassels

Choose three alternating shades of pink to create a garland that you can drape over the door frame to the garden or even across the trees in your garden. If you are like me and live in a flat, I would drape this over the window frames.

This centerpiece screams summer nights to me!  I can’t wait to do something similar. I think the key to this look is that the drinks are already poured! Lay a bed of greenery down the center of the table then cut oranges, blood oranges, limes, and lemons in half and dot them around.

Pink Plates

Pink plates will obviously be the perfect addition to this table and to anyone’s crockery collection.

There are two things that I love from this setting, the honeycomb lanterns, and the green plates. A beautiful combination.

I absolutely love the way these little-potted herb plants and succulents are spilling out onto the plate.
