FATHER’S DAY TABLE-SETTING IDEAS

Father’s Day is just round the corner which means it’s time to put away the florals and pink of Mother’s day and exchange it for something a little more masculine. Why not surprise your Dad and treat him to a special Father’s Day meal. Here are some of my clever styling tips for making your table ‘Dad-friendly’.

NOSTALGIA

A sentimental idea is to utilise old photos as name cards and then create a gastronomic centerpiece filled with all things your Dad might love like chocolate and whisky!

BELT UP

Here’s a simple trick. Head to your local charity shop and buy as many belts as you have guests. Then cut them to size and use them as napkin holders.

CORKED

If your Dad is a wine buff, why not use a cork to tie your napkin? Simple but effective!

WORLD TRAVELER

Is your dad an adventurer? If so, use a map as your tablecloth and write on the map where you have been with your dad and what made that trip special.

YOU SPIN ME RIGHT ROUND...

For the Father who loves his classic tunes, why not place some old records as charger plates on the table? Hopefully, your food will be just as sweet as the music!

WONDERFUL WHISKY

Whilst your Dad may not want a table of flowers, I doubt he’ll mind one or two simple arrangements, particularly if they are in his favourite whisky bottle!

HOLE IN ONE

Lots of Dads are golfing pros so if your father falls into this category, make some grass covered cupcakes or cover your table in a faux grass with golf balls and tees. You’ll definitely win child of the year if you set up your own golf course in the garden for everyone to enjoy after dessert.

Happy Father’s day!
