A Chelsea Flower Show Takeover

What I love about The Chelsea Flower Show is that it’s so quintessentially British!  Everyone loves the look of flowers, but the designs at this show take things to a new level. Even if you don’t have green fingers, you’ll be blown away by what you see. If you can’t make it to the show, there’s plenty else going on in London to celebrate it.

Here are some of the best spots to see installations inspired by The Chelsea Flower Show:

Mayfair in Bloom

Sketch will be holding its own Mayfair Flower Show, with five different exhibitors setting up installations from 17 to 29 May. A floral inspired menu by Pierre Gagnaire and champagne tasting with Champagne Pommery are sure to make it the epitome of chic. Sketch too will be doing an afternoon tea, curated by their bar manager, who’s also known as The Dame of Roses – for some reason! Sketch is an artistically pleasing site at the best of times but over these few days its a must to go as it is just too beautiful to miss.

(Don’t forget to see the bathroom installation)

Fenwicks Bond Street

Tony Marlew has taken over the facade of Fenwicks of Bond St for their 125th year anniversary. The magical lilac wisteria creeping up the pillars is just something amazing to see.

Chelsea in Bloom

Let the competition begin. In Chelsea as many of the shops/restaurants take place in a competition of who can show breathtaking floral displays.  Don’t miss out on a walk around this area. This year’s theme is Floral Safari, inspired by adventure, discovery, exotic animals, savannahs, plains and jungles!

Bluebird

This Chelsea based restaurant is transforming itself into what they call ‘Bluebird in Bloom’. You can expect to find the restaurant looking like a secret garden full of flower based installations. They’ve also created a special cocktail menu inspired by the scents of Jo Loves fragrances. Personally, I’m most excited about their flower themed afternoon tea!

Harrods

A whole lot of floral activity will be taking place at Harrods. There will be gardening talks, flower based sweet treats sold in the Food Hall and more afternoon tea! The theme for their decorations is that of an English Garden. I can’t think of a more lavishly pleasing experience!
